All around the world.
Yesterday was the final crit for Duncan’s master students, and I was invited to come along. Overall I was impressed with the work. Many of them had traveled a great distance since last time I saw them. At the end when everyone had presented Duncan asked me if I had any general comments to them, and it struck me, looking out over the 20 people in the room, that I had met almost everyone in some part of the world. One bunch in China, some in Barbados, a few in Sweden. It was a great moment of realizing that we are all part of an important and interesting discussion. On the panel was also Ximena, who I haven’t seen since that first workshop we did with Duncan. We swapped numbers, and I’m really looking forward to catch up with her! Other than that it also gave me some input in terms of thoughts for my own work at the moment. Which is great!
I read in the paper today that two Chinese guys have been captured, accused for bank robbery. Their story is that they just borrowed the 45 million kuai from the bank, and would bring it all back when they won on the lottery. Unfortunately they didn’t win. Poor people… Hope they won’t be punished to hard…
